My personal favorite kind of donation is leading the fresh finds today. These vintage and antique buttons were a pleasure to sort through and I’m sure it was much faster than carving one would be. The first 3 photos are 100% hand carved shell buttons and buckles. Vintage shell buttons are cold to the touch, are technically each one of a kind, and are often slightly textured. The texture comes from marks of hand carving or from the porousness/texture of the shell it was carved from. While shell buttons are still made, you can usually only find mass produced sets which are much thinner, do not feature carved designs, and have much less variety. Speaking of vintage, the fabrics featured today fall in this category. A lovely light color palette of blues, pinks, and yellows in similar fabrics and patterns; might make the perfect quilt set.
