Martha Pullen
Martha Pullen is a landscape artist based in Charlottesville, Virginia. She primarily paints in watercolor, though she also enjoys acrylic, gouache, and pastel painting. While she has always had a love of art and even minored in Studio Art in her college years, she decided to try watercolor for the first time in 2022, and fell in love with the unpredictability of the medium. Her landscapes are full of vivid colors and textures. You will rarely find evidence of civilization in her paintings, and if you do, it’s small compared to the vastness of the landscape. Through her work, Martha seeks to remind the viewer that no matter how noisy or stressful the world may be, peace and beauty can always be found in the refuge of the natural world. Martha is inspired by the mountains of Vermont, where she grew up, and of Virginia, where she has lived for the past 6 years. She currently works at the University of Virginia, and in her spare time loves to hike and find inspiration for painting. She is also a lifelong musician who plays the French horn, piano, and electric bass.
Meg Kennell
Based in Charlottesville, Teeny Tiny Fae Nonsense is small craft business run by lifelong maker Meg Kennell. She’s been creating since she could hold yarn and delights in giving new life to overlooked objects and materials, some of which have even come from the Scrappy Elephant! With a background in silversmithing and a love for working with her hands, Meg focuses mainly on crocheting cute, cozy creations and building miniature terrariums from natural, found, and recycled objects. Each piece reflects a playful spirit, respect for materials, and a delight in small worlds—celebrating creativity that’s thoughtful, sustainable, and made to bring a little joy and whimsy.
Mirabella Mitchell
Mirabella Mitchell is a poet and ceramic artist living in Charlottesville, Virginia with her husband and two cats. She earned her MFA in creative writing from the University of Virginia and her undergraduate degree in English from Princeton University. Her chapbook of thirty erasures of a single page of The Great Gatsby, The Great Get By, was published this year by Dancing Girl Press. To relax, she enjoys losing at board games with friends, reading science-fiction and fantasy epics, and weightlifting.
Sharon Argo
When someone asks “Where did you get that!?”, you should never answer “I’m not sure”. Instead, you start your story with “Well, what had happened was.......!”. The majority of my work is sold locally or at festivals so I’m not always great about taking one final pic!!!! I really love to “Argocycle” up something I found at an estate sales, thrift stores, or, of course SCRAPPY ELEPHANT. Please take a moment to check out my website or social media for whatever I have been obsessed with lately! I jump between mediums so my posts and pictures will often be filled more with works in progress with the project du jour instead of finished product.
