Christine Drake
The Abstract Tapestries for sale are made from recycled art materials bought at The Scrappy Elephant, Charlottesville, VA. Christine Drake uses the visual arts to explore the interaction between human beings and the natural world. She has been a curious gardener since 1974 and continues to study the environments around her. Christine earned a master’s degree in studio art from New York University. Museums and galleries across the US and overseas have exhibited her work. Collections include the Museum of Modern Art’s Artist File Archive in New York and the Beijing Natural Culture Center in China. After 20 years as a painter/printmaker, Christine was inspired to try botanical illustration and completed a certificate of competency from Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden. Since then, she has completed a 75-piece portfolio of watercolor paintings detailing the plants on her property (a florilegium); a yearlong perpetual journal; and a series of watercolor paintings combining botanical forms into abstract images. Combining abstract mark making with traditional botanical illustration to uncover “the order of nature” (Helen Frankenthaler) feels like walking a tightrope between the hidden and the obvious. Christine and her husband live on 20 acres in the Shenandoah Valley.
Dellinda Hueston
These bags are made by Dellinda Hueston who is a senior citizen in the city of Charlottesville. She loves fabrics and has many scraps/remnants. Upon learning that fabrics in the landfills are a danger to the earth, a second life for fabrics seemed urgent, plus the fun of creating "one of a kind" useful items.
Emily Lopez
Hi, I’m Emily Lopez—a resin artist and mental health therapist living in Lake Monticello, Virginia. I started creating resin art during a very personal time in my life, after my son was born with a heart condition. Making art became a calming and healing space for me—a way to slow down, focus on beauty, and express what words sometimes can’t. As a therapist, I’ve always believed in the power of creativity to support emotional well-being, and that comes through in every piece I make. I love working with flowers and other natural elements, capturing their delicate details in glossy resin so they can be enjoyed for years to come. Each piece is made with care, and many carry a quiet message of hope, strength, or simply the joy of noticing something beautiful. Whether you’re drawn to the colors, the textures, or the story behind the work, I hope my art brings a little light into your day. You can also find me at EmilyLopezCounseling.com. Liz Henke
Liz Henke is a multidisciplinary artist and earth-honoring maker whose work is rooted in storytelling, nature, and soulful reuse. Drawing inspiration from myth, memory, and Earth, Liz transforms secondhand and natural materials into ritual tools and keepsake art. Felt and found objects become tiny altars, pocket goddesses, and felted jewelry—each crafted with intention and joy. A lifelong creative, Liz brings her background in women’s health and ceremony into every creation, infusing her work with intuitive narrative and a touch of spirit. Her art invites connection—to self, to story, and to the cycles of the Earth. A proud supporter of creative reuse, Liz believes beauty is everywhere—especially in the forgotten, the scrappy, and the small. Through her work, she hopes to inspire others to notice magic in the mundane and create with heart.
Madison Cavanaugh
Madison is a student at Fluvanna County High school who has been crocheting for just over 2 years. She started her crafting journey to try and relieve the stress that school brings. Most of her materials are bought secondhand and use various free and paid patterns to support other artists.
Micaiah Brumbelow
My name is Micaiah Brumbelow, I am thirteen years old, and have been making 3D origami animals for about three years. I first discovered the craft while on a family vacation and saw someone making it at a market. Since then I have taught myself and been building animals and other 3D origami creations. I love the way paper and other common materials can be transformed into intricate artwork. I even use my recycled math homework to build with. It is so satisfying!
Samaria Dooms
Samaria creations is a business based off creativity, built to show individuality. I sell handmade bracelets, necklaces, and earrings for people of all ages and all identities. What’s so unique about this business is that no piece is ever the same. Everything that I make is one of a kind, which shows that we are all the same, but we’re also different in our own unique ways. Samaria‘s creation has been around for three years and it has a little something for everyone.
Victor Florence
My name is Victor and I am the sole artist behind Victor’s Wares. I am a 22 year old trans-man and being an artist as my career has been a lifelong dream. I started my art journey 10 years ago at age 12, creating art of the ponies from the show “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic” on MS Paint. Drawing and creating was always one of the few things where I felt I really shone, and although I began with using digital medium, I quickly wanted to learn as many different skills and mediums as I could. In the past 10 years I’ve never stopped drawing ponies, but I have a wide variety of different artistic expressions. Today my wares mostly consist of crochet, original paintings, stickers, upcycled mediums, and more!
