Mosaic 201: Your House #
Eileen has been installing community mosaics throughout Charlottesville in schools and Habitat for Humanity buildings. Her work can been seen at Cville Arts Cooperative on the Downtown Mall. This workshop will challenge your skills and creativity with shaping placement, and intentional design while making a personal house number or flat garden ornament for your home with outdoor proof materials. Bring at least two printed images for inspiration and let’s see what beautiful mosaic pieces emerge. 5 1/2 hours with a 40 minute break to let the tiles set before grouting.
Adult class with prior glass cutting and grouting experience.

Mosaic 101

This very beginner workshop will focus on tools, materials, and basics of cutting tile and glass, how to properly adhere mosaic bits to a substrate, make a curve from a square, and grouting. You’ll have a fun, relaxed time making your first impressive mosaic art piece at your own pace. You will go home with a ready to hang wall hanging with bright and shine glass and ceramic tiles. 5 1/2 hours with a 40 minute break to let the tiles set before grouting.
