Happy Wednesday friends! While we don’t have a lot of fresh finds today, we do have some exciting announcements. In May, the amazing makers of Lynchburg donated almost 2,000 lbs of art unwanted art supplies to our pop-up- WOW!!! In case you didn’t know why that’s a big deal, here is a bit about why we are so adamant about keeping materials out of the landfill:
Did you know that landfills are the third largest source of human generated methane, a greenhouse gas that is 80xs more harmful to our planet than carbon dioxide? 🤢
When you donate and shop at the Scrappy Elephant (or any second hand store for that matter🤩) you are not only saving money but you are also helping to save our planet! Why buy new when you can find almost every single thing you could ever need second hand?!
Huge thanks to everyone who has donated their unwanted supplies in Charlottesville and now in Lynchburg! -🥳🎉😃!
If you are reorganizing your studio, moving, or downsizing, you can bring your unwanted art supplies to either our Cville or LYH location. And if you have lost a creative loved one, you can bring their supplies here and rest assured knowing that their treasures will be used and loved again.
And another exciting announcment- we have some classes on the schedule for our Lynchburg location! You can learn how to sew, try printmaking, learn how to make books, or even learn some expressive watercolor techniques!
