If you’re ready for a sewing machine that will be a joy to use, please come to the Scrappy Elephant and try out the machines.  They’ll bring you many hours of sewing pleasure!

There will be at least 14 machines for sale, manufactured by Pfaff, Husqvarna Viking, Brother, Kenmore, Singer and Janome/New Home. These sewing machines have been previously owned and loved and have more features than entry-level sewing machines. 

 Every machine is in working order, complete with instruction manual, most with cases and some with additional accessories.

The proceeds from the sale of these machines, minus a fee for the repair and replacement of parts, will be donated to a local non-profit campaign that is joint sponsored by Sin Bareras, the Legal Aid Justice Society, Keep Going Together, Indivisible Charlottesville and the Central Virginia Community Support Fund to purchase $25 gift cards at either Walmart, Food Lion or Kroger.  The cards are targeted to provide emergency assistance to local immigrant families for supplies that food banks don't stock or that SNAP benefits don't cover such as feminine hygiene products and diapers.
