October 1st, 2025
These days, the Scrappy team is trying to find joy wherever we can. Most of that joy comes from digging through the donations you all bring us and finding the treasures, tiny trinkets, and oddities we showcase here every day. In September, you all kept over 6,000 pounds of material from entering our local waste stream, proving joy for countless crafters. As you can see from the first photo, we still cannot keep fabric stocked. So if you’ve got any extra you’re not using (or know anyone else who does), we’d love to help you give it a new home.
Today, these beautiful hummingbird pins and pendants are bringing the most joy. For such a tiny bird, they have incredible an incredible capacity for memory, distance, and pollinating prowess. It’s finally October 1st, so we can officially declare the start of spooky season (although I know many of you all celebrate 365 days a year). Remember: we won’t accept Halloween-related after October 31st so please bring those items in now if you’re looking to clear out. Some other fun trinkets include a fantastical map of Charlottesville, clay tools, all kinds of fibers, funky clothespins, so much glitter glue, and, finally, what has to be one of the worst-named products I’ve ever seen come through Scrappy: the kid pegger… Don’t worry, it’s just a coat rack. Happy Wednesday, y’all! Open 10-7 for all your scrapy crafty needs.
p.s. if you’re interested in selling your art at Scrappy, the application for the November-January rotation opened today. Email us at info@scrappyelephant.com to get the application.
