Upcycling with Applique

  • The Scrappy Elephant (map)

Create a one of a kind clothing item and learn applique in the process! This is a beginner friendly upcycle project that will give you the confidence to upcycle your clothes. Bring a sweatshirt or t-shirt you want to breathe new life into. We'll go over how to do applique work on clothing and how to do reverse applique. You can use some sun bonnet sue blocks that we'll provide or you can find fabric around the store to create your own design. Hearts, butterflies, flowers, boots, you name it, you can applique it. This project is perfect for a shirt with a stain on it or a shirt with a logo you want to hide.

This class is beginner friendly, but does require basic sewing knowledge. If you're a complete beginner consider attending sewing 101 on April 5th to prepare for this class.
